| I know they look nothing alike, but the male protaganist reminds me of the main character of Metabots. |

Not exactly. The "third version" of games typically involved updated graphics, added areas and Pokemon, and redesigned stuff among other things while retaining practically the same story as the first two games it's based off of with added elements. Black 2 and White 2 are literal sequels to Black and White, and the only other games that pulled off something close to this were the Gen 2 games Gold, Silver, and Crystal (and in short their remakes) as they were considered "true" sequels in terms of story. |
